Here are a couple alternatives for providing input on the future development and changes along Highway 54. While these topics are certainly related, there are different groups driving each project, with separate schedules and decision to be made. Obviously at some point these plans will need to come together, but at this point it's important to make sure your comments are directed to the proper group.

We are conducting our very first polling of the community on a public issue. We hope as many of you as possible will participate.
Let us give you some background. DCCA is a member of the Durham InterNeighborhood Council - INC, made up of associations throughout Durham since 1984. While INC's main focus is to work with the City and County on issues affecting our neighborhoods, occasionally INC considers taking a position on a public issue.

Just a reminder that the Downing Creek pool closes on September 12, so this is your last weekend to enjoy it.

On Thursday, two little boys were cut on their feet from glass in the Downing Creek Pool. As is posted on signs around the pool and in the bathhouse and in our pool rules, glass is not permitted anywhere in the pool area. This is because we are now required by law to close and drain the pool in order to clean it before it can be reopened. Since I don't recall us ever having to do this, at least during my time here, I do not know how long this will take or how much it is going to cost us. I will post a time estimate to reopen it when I have one.
